practically in my backyard
Over the years, we’ve traveled around the US to visit different national parks, but very often forget that there’s a big one just a short drive from home: Shenandoah National Park.
This past weekend, however, we did remember and decided to head up there to see the fall colors. And for those of you in the know, yes, we did consider that it was peak foliage weekend and that the park would likely be busy.
It was busy, but we didn’t care. I mean, come on, look at this:

Although, to be fair, any national park is going to be gorgeous at all times of the year.
Anyway, I remain a devoted fan of mini adventures. I was totally blissed out from hiking in the cool, crisp air and so much leaf peeping.
How are the leaves where you are?

So pretty! Virginia does put on a spectacular show this time of year.
I'm a big proponent of mini-adventures. Apple Festival with heirloom apples, food trucks, cider and apple pie at Albemarle Cider works? Sign me up. Autumn drives anywhere around our part of the world are likely to year Fall Glory. I Love Autumn in Virginia.
