50
And then there were 50.
We did it; we have now officially stepped foot in (if not spent more time) all 50 U.S. states. Earlier this month, we finished our quest in Alaska.
After our initial indecision about whether to plan our own trip or go on a cruise, we decided on the cruise because once we factored in all the arrangements that needed to be made versus the total cost, the cruise came in only a smidge more expensive, but with a lot less hassle.
Our itinerary in brief:
We flew to Seattle, rented a car, and explored Olympic National Park for a few days. More on that in a future post.
After that, we returned the car in Seattle and boarded the ship for a seven-day cruise through the Inside Passage. We visited Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan, spent part of a day cruising through Glacier Bay National Park, plus a quick stop in Victoria BC Canada at the end, and then docked in Seattle again.
Alaska is, of course, gorgeous and awe inspiring. We hope to go back and visit more of the state.
At one point, I looked at my husband with tears in my eyes and said, “How lucky are we to be able to be here?” Alaska exceeded my already-high expectations.
10/10 highly recommend.

Stunning photos, and parabéns for completing the 50 state challenge!
Fantastic.
