It is iconic and I’m not surprised the interior was underwhelming. It’s a good story tho.

It is a spectacular castle from the outside. That is an amazing photo, so moody. I envy all your travel, truly.

Thank you. When I was a teenager, trav l seemed so glamorous and unattainable. Never would I ever have guessed that one day I too would travel. But it's definitely not as glamorous as I imagined, which is why I share our misadventures.

Yep, been there, before the internet was available to the masses. We had to do it old school, just like you did in 2013. It was raining, and the iconic view from the trail's bridge above the castle was completely shrouded in fog. The insides were a bit of a let-down, but I'm still glad we did the tour. Then we drove back to our campground and settled in for a rainy night with our young children.

Beautiful picture and great story. It also reminds me of how much things have changed travel-wise in a decade or so!

One of the things I've learned through travel with the new husband is always book in advance for any of the attractions you want to see. And if you have the resources, a private tour guide can really personalize the experience for you.

What a gorgeous photo! I liked the story too. Been there with relying on wi-if. Although I kind of miss tangible maps! I sent you an email as a reply to one of your posts! Hopefully it gets to you!
