I’m not very comfortable on a bike, particularly in a city. We biked in Amsterdam and I nearly had a panic attack when we were in the city. The trails outside of the city were lovely. It’s something I need to keep working on since my son loves riding his bike so much.

I got an e-bike this past spring and I love her (her name is Skeeter). My very favorite is riding to the library with books and a bouquet in the front basket, and I have 2 friends in biking distance. 🥰 I’m still working on those pesky left hand turns so I’ve had a couple spills, but I get back on!

Ooooh, what kind of bike did you get? The name Skeeter is adorable.

We take our e-bikes when we travel with our camping trailer. The highlight this year was biking on Going-To-The-Sun Road at Glacier NP before it was open to vehicular traffic.

That sounds like a spectacular bike ride and I'd love to do it. How far up the road did you go?

From the farthest westward parking on the east side, we went to the top -- which, in hindsight, we weren't supposed to be able to complete, but the larger road closures had been removed by road crews and the small sign had blown over in some previous strong gusts of wind (one of which nearly blew me off the road). We met rangers on our way down who were fixing the sign and gave us a stern warning, although they recognized that we couldn't see a sign that wasn't facing us. There were only about 6 people biking and hiking on the road on that side.

Dh rode up about partway with about 200+ others from the western side of the park. At the time (early June), the farthest east you could drive a car was to Trail of the Cedars. My bike no longer had enough charge left on it, so he went without me while I hiked. I recommend doing it at least once in your life; it was glorious and so joyful! (It was also really cold because there was still snow along the side, and GNP had another foot of snow the following weekend.)
