Great job on the packing! Having lived in SATX, I disagree about it having dry heat, but perhaps I am biased after living in El Paso. Still, compared to VA, I'm sure it was a welcome change.
Having a car to throw extra stuff into does give us the temptation to bring too much. (Ditto for the camping trailer.)

The difference between the humidity in Virginia and SATX was delightful and welcome.
