In honor of Independence Day, a short travel memory:
Our family of four was in California in 2014. The last day of our vacation was July 4th and we were scheduled to fly back to Virginia on a red-eye flight out of SFO (San Francisco).
Side note: Of all the airports I’ve flown through, SFO has some of the most delicious food options I’ve ever experienced anywhere.
That evening, as we flew east, the skies were clear and we were treated to birds-eye views of fireworks displays from approximately 35,000’ across two time zones. Not only were these viewpoints beautiful, but it was also really quite nice to watch fireworks without the accompanying noise or mosquitos. Highly recommend.
Where’s the best place you’ve watched fireworks?
Seattle ranks as my best fireworks viewing: the classical music station on the radio while watching fireworks over the water and the Space Needle were a beautiful combination.
I went to the Calgary Olympics closing ceremonies and those were beautiful fireworks.
